Default Jackson Coosa, Blem or no Blem?

I'm looking to pick up a Jackson Coosa this week and the one I have my eye on is a forest camo but Im not sure if its considered a blem or not. Its color is really contrasting on top, like the pics of the color show, but on the bottom half starting at the seam, Its pretty much a solid color with the only pattern being on the very front. it looks like 2 seperate color boats put together honestly. I didnt know if thats normal on these boats or if this would be considered a blem? Every other boat I have had carried the same pattern or color scheme throughout the kayak,

I wouldn't say it is a blem but more of just a product of how the color came out. From what i understand the color swirling is more of an art than an exact science so it doesn't surprise that some look way different than others even though they are the "same" color.

I have a forest camo Coosa. Mine is a little bit like you are describing on the bottom....no problem for me, though. I'm just gonna get the bottom scratched up fishing in the shoals. lol

Ahh, I see. Yea, yours is kinda what im talkin about from what I can see in the pics. The reason I ask is because I didnt want to pay retail for a boat that may be considered a "Blem" and I was looking to get a better deal. I know that some "blems" are considered to be so because of problems with color and nothing else from what I have read. I guess the better question would have been, What kind of color imperfection makes a kayak a Blem?

I went and took a coosa, ride 115, ride 135 and a commander 12 for a demo today and now im right back where I started...... Not knowing what boat im going to get... I liked the coosa being so nimble but the wildy rides seemed to have more stabilty. The coosa was riding pretty low in the water with me standing on it. The Commander, I just scratched that one off along with the 135 cause it was too big and Im a sit on top guy for sure.

I really was dead set on the coosa until today, Problem is that I can only get a color on the ride that Im not too fond of, but the price is right with 20% percent off right now for 2012 models. I dont know if its worth paying that 300+ more for the coosa just to get that seat and a color I want.... Blah... Thats off topic I know but I jsut thought about it when I looked at this thread again and didnt want to start a new one for a rant... lol

Tough decision. I have two Coosa's but I desperately need a flat water boat. The wind just pushes me around way too much on flat water...but am keeping the Coosa's for rivers. I have been in the Phase 3 seat that is in the Ride 115....not comfortable at all. I will demo the Cuda 12 and the Ride 115...2013 model with the new seat. If the Cuda 12 is good in the wind it will probably be a no brainer for me...the seat on Jackson fishing boats is hard to beat......the Native seat is good too so might demo the new Slayer. Jackson is way ahead...IMHO....in color schemes on kayaks. I have had people wave me down and ask "What is that on your car"? I have a Black Widow and Yellow Jacket. Do love the Jackson colors....good luck with your decision....I am in same boat.

Jackson produces very few blem boats and if they do it will be stamped blem and not sold to the general public. They give these boats to dealers for demos. IMO it's hard to beat the seat in a Jackson but there are other boats coming with comfy seats. It's nice to fish all day in comfort with a dry behind.

Good to know that they are stamped, I had no idea. Nothing better than a dry behind lol. The last boat I had was a Pescador 12 and I had Wet, Itching river @$$ most of the time.

The seat is worth a lot. The Coosa is also very stable, it just feels different at first, because of the type of stability it has. At 6'3" 240# I can stand all day, but that seat is so nice, why would I? I hear that the Cuda 12 is also very stable, and has that feeling of stability you get with a harder edged boat. I'm looking forward to trying it for myself.

Well I went ahead and made my choice, I picked up the Ride 115. This choice was one of the hardest I have ever made but at the price I got the Wild'y, I couldnt force myself to pay the extra for the coosa, After taxes it was $400 dollars cheaper.

After my demo, the seat and color was just not enough to make me choose the coosa... Ill probably pick up a coosa as well in the near future if I can find one at a better price.
