    Default Finally got away

After being tied up with daddy duties all summer I finally had the chance to get away and hit a flow I havent fished is a long time and made a full day of it.

The fish didn't cooperate for a while but finally turned on pretty strong, most being small. All together we landed 40-50. We did manage one nice fish that I caught on my new spinning rod I made for these types of trips (MHX HM-DS8515) This thing is sweet!

Take out was quite interesting as we were rushing to miss the thunderstorm only to find out were locked behind a gate that we were promised we would be able to get out of. After a few calls and 30 min. we were finally out and on the way to pick up my truck and head home.

    Wake up: 3:30
    Back in bed: 11:30
    River Miles : 10
    Post trip: TIRED

you left out one small detail...a rock said stop, the water said go, I said "uh oh" (and a few other things) and over I went.

    Rookie! haha

Tread, you should have seen the other side of the fish. It had a 2"X2" area that looked like someone had scaled it. No scales on it at all and blood red. The bottom 1/4 of the tail was gone and blood red also. The fish also didn't fight too well, just kinda surged a few times and gave up.

I did notice the tail. Are there any predator fish found in that area other than catfish?

Garfish but there were no teeth marks. Looked just like someone had tried to scale it like you do a panfish.

    nice fish
Give a man a fish...he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish...his wife won't see him much.
