    Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you already have this thing planned and you might not care to hear my view.
I hope in the future, you might try a catch-photo-and release instead of a weigh in.
It worked well for the Riverbassin Tourney, and I think it would work well for you too.
Seems to me that you will end up killing lots of fish if people have them on a stringer all day to the weigh in.
You might not be concerned about that and may be planning on keeping all of the fish anyway.
Shoal Bass are a precious resource on the Flint.
Sorry...this just rubs me the wrong way.

I agree and hey everyone has a right to voice their opinions. But may i say it wasn't my tournament just fished it and actually did well. Only one fish didn't survive the float so maybe you can rest easy knowing that all in all it was a great day though the largest bag being 5 fish totally 13 pounds 9 ounces

I second that, that is too much pressure on that part of the river, not to mention transplanting fish that were probably about to spawn. I know the catch photo release is not the sexiest way to have a weigh in but it is the most responsible way if you want to keep a resource like the flint and especially the shoal bass. I wonder how many of the fish died after you put them in the water. Same thing happens on a lake..they all go back in live and then a couple of days later you can find dead bass. I step down from my soap box now.... If anyone knows of an organization that is making any headway in making the shoal bass a catch and release only fish let me know and I'll sign up, let's add the redeye and bar trams to the list as well. Any fish that only exists in such a small geographic area should be protected. Ok..once again I step down from the box...haha

Sorry if I sound harsh, I am not against tourneys at all, I'm the co founder of a kayak series myself, but it's photo release, I read this post about 20 minutes after talking to a gentleman that fishes in a Jon boat tournament on the river I outfit on. He was telling me that they had 20 boats and every boat limited 5 fish on the same river, the fish were brought almost 20 miles down stream in some instances. So it was a little fresh on my mind. I explained the CPR format to him and who knows maybe it will change the way the tourney is done in the future.

Just to be clear...I meant WOW I had no idea that the thought of dragging a stringer of fish down river in a kayak was a good idea to anyone....CPR is the on ly way that should be done....period

I came buy there sat and seen all the trucks and trailers parked at the bridge but I did not know they was having a Tournament and I **** sure did not know they was keeping the fish for a weigh in. And that part of the river is not well stocked for fishing a Tournament in the first place. have to get below goat rock to start catching anything. and then there is not a lot of fish to be had. hard fishing in that part of the river. I for one never never never bring a shoal bass out of that river I give him a big old kiss and set him back in the water.
Ok where did that fish go.
