I got an email from a friend with a bass boat wanting to fish. We decided to fish a local large impoundment Sunday from 8-2, not to late, basketball time! Neither of us had fished this lake so we weren't sure what to expect.
We fished several coves, from point to point. Best ones had more defined points, deeper water in the center and wood structure somewhere around. All fish were taken on watermelon or pumpkinseed 1/8 ounce shakey heads worms and an albino super fluke.
Combined we caught around 25 largemouth, with the biggest going around 2.5lbs. I had a solid 3.5 on but hooked her on a long cast over an extended point with 6lb flouro, once she jumped I knew it was over...
Considering it was post front, much cooler and windy, we had a pretty great day. Next time I get out, it will be on the river, hopefully chasing smallies on the long rod!
