All you need is a gazetter, google earth, and a tank of gas and you can find all the put ins and take outs you need. It never hurts to go with others to their spots too.

Listen, and this is for everyone...my comments are not meant to be offensive although I am sure they may be easily taken that way. It isn't the objective of the board or its members to bash newbies...and I by no means have and ELITEST attitude, i grew in a 2 bedroom trailer and it isn't my style. The rivers we all fish are very different animals from large lakes. The river we are talking about is one of TWO places in the state of south carolina where one may catch a smallmouth bass. This river has the potential (and does ) produce trophy class fish. Your are right when you say its public. However, if you have never had a local flow damaged by an internet post, you should consider yourself lucky. My own local gem has just about been ruined by that exact problem.

Discussing specific locations is prohibited on trip reports. Small rivers and streams and even big rivers when specific locations are mentioned can be overun with people when this info is mentioned on a public forum. It is just not polite to post this specific info publicly out of respect to others that call that stretch or small flow their “home water.”

It is OK to discuss specific locations when simply seeking river access, but we still encourage those conversations to happen on the private forum for only our members to see. The main thing is that we want to keep everyone happy, including you who may not realize what mentioning a specific spot in a trip report can do, especially if it was a good trip report. We also encourage using the private message system that all registered members have access to when discussing more specific info.

These is the rule that is posted in the forum rules at the top of the general forum...Deep

Also let me be the first to say that I have sponsored and held a rodeo right in my own home water...I am not a selfish guy by any means and I would be glad to take anyone fishing who wants to go...Im no expert on columbia rivers, but i put my time in up there long before this board even existed, when drew sat at my table and told me all of the dreams he had for it...jjfisher you are welcome to come with me any time, and if you don't mind driving a short hour I can show you another beautiful river with the fish you are looking for...anytime...just PM me, Deep

I agree with all of this but as you can also see we will be happy to show you our fishing grounds . Thats the big difference between kayak fishing and bass boat fishing. I'll be happy to show anyone anytime what I do. But I have wittnessed many a stringer of fish that shouldn't have been taken from that area at that time. PS PM me for info.....

Amen guys! I had to give up trout fishing years ago because of overfishing. Places i used to fish and maybe see one person all day, now on any given day you can see dozens in any one stretch of water. I spent two years finding put ins and take outs on my local smallie stream and tell no one where i catch fish. and i am stricktly catch and release.

I've got a gazetteer, been on google earth and been on some of the river. I'll respect your wishes about mentioning specifics and I'll respect the resource. I can and will figure out the river on my own. Maybe I'll see some of you out there sometime. once again, sorry for disturbing the forum.
