    we need to meet Tread.
    I get home about 10-10:30.
We could meet no later than 11 and have an afternoon wade

As I looked at the pictures closer, that's my stomping grounds and about 10 minutes from the house.

Catawba, Rodeo Clown and I fished about a 4 mile section above this area yesterday. We caught maybe 20 or so between us, with the majority of them being spots.
    No monsters though!
We caught fish on jigs, swimbaits, spinnerbaits, grubs, slashbait, senkos....maybe some other stuff but that's what I remember.
Spots were found in deeper slack water areas around wood (big surprise there )
Smallies were found more in the middle of the river in the slower moving areas and ledges of the upper part of the shoals.
They gonna burn a honeysuckle when I die

Landed two yesterday. I think the cooler weather had them confused.

A duck house near the river.

good looking fish...that swim jig looks good too
Give a man a fish...he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish...his wife won't see him much.

The swim jigs have been fun to fish with. I'm still learning what retrieval speed the fish want. I've caught some burning it back and others where caught at a steady speed.

Thank you for the photos. I am absolutely shocked at the water clarity. I would have never guessed it and no one I know fishes that area this time of year. Awesome. Congrats Tread!

Just a strange rain pattern. It won't be long till we get one good rain, then it'll be orange soup again for the majority of the spring, summer and fall.

yep, hopefully she'll not turn orange prior to this weekend
it normally takes at least 10 days for that river to clear up after a decent rain
