New Year's Eve Bassin'

One last trip for the year.... Decided to hit a lake in Shelby Co. as the creeks are muddy and swift. Started at the usual spot for me ... waffle house for a quick breakfast and then we headed to the lake. It was actually a pretty good day for December weather wise. One of the things I like about winter fishing... the bites are a lot less but many times your few bites produce quality fish. I only had 3 bites today but pulled in this nice one - 4.14 lbs:

took a buddy along and he pulled in this nice fish which was a little bit shorter than mine, but weighed in at 4.34 lbs. :

I find myself on small lakes and ponds this time of year. The streams in my area are just too hard to fish, muddy water being the norm. I do not like to fish in cold muddy water. Great fish glad yall can still get out and fish in Kentucky.
