Default Finally... Dad got back on the water after 3 months! 10/24/11

    Hello Folks...

That's right, after three agonizing months of surgery, recovery, and rehab, I finally made it back onto our beloved Susquehanna River Monday afternoon and evening with my fishing buddy, Josh Kreider (smallieman).

You can see my report and pics over on my fishing blog at: "Fishing With Dad"

I enjoyed every minute of the trip despite this crazy bum knee of mine. Poor Josh had to run that TM with his messed up right knee. Boy, were we a pair!... "Cripple Creek Bass Fishing Team" starring Gimpy and Limpy! ;D

Thanks, guys. I had my knee replaced on July 26th and I had scar tissue develop and hold my knee back. Several weeks after surgery, I had the knee manipulated under anesthesia... OUCH! The surgeon had it bent to the entire 120 degrees, but boy did it tighten up and hurt like hell afterward. Since the manipulation, I have only been able to bend my knee to 85 degrees with assistance and -15 degree extension. ((0 degree is fully extended).

I'll be starting "Aquatherapy" next week... Wait, isn't that what we call fishing? LOL!

I had a follow-up appointment this morning and the surgeon decided to give me a cortisone injection into my knee to help with the pain and inflammation.

Boy, they cut you open, remove the old worn out knee, cut bone and add a new hi-tech knee joint with screws and glues, bend you the very next day despite the pain and staples in your leg, push you to tears and heart arrhythmia, manipulate your knee several weeks later, add more bending and pain after the manipulation, and now shoot your knee up with cortisone... Thank God for Modern Medicine!

Right on Dad. Saw your report over on RS. Good to see you on the water. I miss fishing with you and Josh. When can we go together? Jeff 443-244-2592
