Fishing Kansas rivers and streams

I didn't see a thread for Kansas so i figured i would start one. I know Kansas isn't known for "river bassin" but we have several moving waters that produce quality bass. My personal preference is Pilsbury Crossing in north east Kansa it has produce some good Largemouth and Spotted bass. You can find bass all thru the Flint Hills region. Has anyone else had luck anywhere else/

I have never fished Pillsbury Crossing. Any advice? How clear is the water? How early in the year is it fishable? I assume it fishes like the Ozark streams as far as lures go. Would casting tackle with 10# monofilament be sufficient?
