Default Hot day on the Creek!

Met up with Wolka Buzz and floated the Elkhorn today. It actually wasn't too bad until the last couple of hours and then it got ridiculously hot!! Wasn't the greatest day on the water - but it beat cutting the grass I caught about a dozen smallies and I think Terry caught about the same maybe a couple of more. He caught a really nice catfish on a spinner bait.

It is beautiful out there right now... can't remember the Elkhorn with this much water this far into the summer:

Most of my fish were 10-12 inches. Did pick up one approaching 14 towards the end of the float - don't tell the fish though because they all thought they were bigger and fought like 17" fish

Terry Lost a rod and I broke a rod today.

Got home and finished the day off right - A cooling thunderstorm here in the ville will let the grass cutting wait another day so I cooled off with a :

Sounds like a great day of fishing! I've fished elkhorn a few times this year and can't wait to get back there soon. I also enjoy a cold Yuengling!
I fish better with an ice cold beer; some people fish better with talent

It comes from Pennsylvania (wish they sold it in KY).... a guy I teach with is not so good with computers so I always help by entering grades for him. He happens to be a Penn St. fan and whenever he goes up for a game he brings me a case or two back. Oh by the way after the rain here it cooled off so I decided to go ahead and cut the grass instead of doing it in the heat tomorrow.

I fished the creek yesterday (Sunday), and while it was equally hot my virtual stringer was not so good a yours. It was my first time on it, so I didn't realize that it was running high. Had a great day though (the swimming holes were a welcome relief). BTW Yuengling is a popular favorite here in Nashville!

Looks like I need to break out the ol' SCUBA gear in some of these rivers/creeks we all fish - it sounds like there are some really good finds at the bottom! Wish I could find some Yuenglings down there, that would be sweet! beats the underwater structural inspections I use to conduct in the alligator invested parts of FLA though...

I lost mine while trying to fasten the bunge on the rod holder on my Coosa. I need to reposition the hook to the inside. Third time it has happened. The other 2 times it was less than a foot deep and I just picked it up. This time about 8 feet deep and tried snagging with treble hooks but could not find it. Have they changed that design on the later models? I heard they were. Mine was one of the first ones off the line. Not the first $250 I have lost and won't be the last. Terry
