The upside of 4th of July: had a 4 day weekend and could justify fishing one morning. The downside is obvious: every river is PACKED. The solution? Go off the grid. Technically this pic should be in the Missouri forum but I live in Arkansas and so here it is. My bro and I decided to go bushwhack style and just walk 3 miles of river with our fly rods on Saturday. We had fished part of it on my brother's in-law's land before but most of it was completely unknown to us. Just getting out and exploring was so much fun. The river was beautiful, clean, remote, and loaded with fish. We each caught about 10. Nothing huge (this was probably the biggest fish of the day) but all very fat and healthy. Was a great day.
