Default A creekin' kind of weekend

It's been too long since I have been river bassin', so long that I've been having withdrawals, so I devoted this past weekend to spending some time on some of my local creeks.

I headed to the river immediately after work on Thursday hoping to sore lip a few bass and get a jump start on the 4th of July holiday. It's been a while since I've waded a local stream, but it didn't take long to get back into the swing of things. Thanks to the drought we're in, water levels are pretty low around here. It's hot as Hades out there as well. With low water and hot air temps, the river felt like bath water. I was actually cooler out of the water than in it - that doesn't happen very often. With the low water I expected the clarity to be stellar, but on this stretch of river, that was not the case. It may have been better further upstream. Still managed to catch a few bass on top, nothing of size, but it was good to feel the water on my legs again.
