Thinking about hitting the whitewater near Brookville and floating down from there, is this a decent stretch to fish? Wouldnt mind getting a few smallies forever memorialized on my camera!![]()

Family farm is near Brookville. I have never fished it. I know my cousins head to the Miami to smallie fish rather than go to the closer whitewater.
Yes, it's worth checking out for paddling and fishing.
I might head over that way sometime soon, will post up when I do.

Fished the Whitewater on Sunday morning, I called ahead to Morgans canoe service and used their launch. The earliest they would allow me to get started was 8 am and that was way to late to make an 8 mile paddle. I did manage a few smallies, nothing over 12" but the river was very nice, I floated from their facility down to the highway 1 bridge. I would like to go further up and float down to their shop, I heard the water is a little more pool and rapids maybe a little more condusive to smallies? Not sure if any of the canoe companies can do that, so it looks like a 2 car arrangement is in order. All in all I enjoyed myself and had a nice day floating, didnt see too many people until the last couple of miles but by then I was just paddling and not fishing too hard...it was HOT! If anyone has any info or tips let me know, I think this river could hold some nice smallmouth, just a matter of finding them. I used a topwater in the morning and that was the most productive lure for the day, I had 2 nice smallies come off and they felt pretty good.
