    Default Texas tournament ?

    Hi y'all

I am thinking about fishing this deal out of T&G. Does anyone know how many people entered in Austin a few weeks ago?

I do have a rules question. Before I get a bunch of crap, I'll say that I plan to follow the rules to the letter or not enter.
I noticed the rules include Prohibition of alcohol and drugs. So what are the hours of prohibition? Can one drink a beer between take out and weigh in? If I am subject to a polygraph will I be asked if I ever used illegal drugs in my lifetime or on that day or what . I am pretty sure that you can't have alcohol at T&G but is it generally ok after the take out?

I have never entered any type of fishing tournament, so excuse my ignorance. Just seems like a good thing to try since we are on the home waters and all. Besides all that I'd love to have a Coosa (listed in the classifieds).

Give a man a fish...he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish...his wife won't see him much.

You are seriously worried about this? What you do on your own personal time is none of our business. We just ask that you refrain from alcohol and drugs while fishing the tournament / weigh in.

Having a beer is one thing, having 18 is another.

Man I had big plans of fishing these tournaments this year. Then life bit me in the butt and i got Tennis elbow to the point I can't pick up and cast a rod without pain. I hope enough people keep it going this year so that I can fish next season.

Moder, I fished the Austin tournament and being the first one for Texas it was ran pretty good weigh in was slow but I've been discussing ways to speed it up with Duane. There were around 13 who participated and first thru sixth were seperated by four inches. It was pretty close. There was food and alcohol made available after weigh in at MOC. I don't see Duane offering alcohol but he will be providing food. I'm unable to fish the San Marcos one but you should. It was a good tournament with some great prizes. I definitely seeing this grow into a big event but it takes people like you to help it grow.
    Thanks

Pretty simple, don't drink while on the water. Anything else is up to you.

Should be a great event and from what I hear the guys who fished the first one will be back to fish the second one if their schedules allow so it sounds like they all had a great time.

I'll be there for this one too and am excited to actually fish a few TX rivers there myself, catch a guad (just to say I did) and meet some TX River Bassers!

I will be there to fish, one question though, drought is pretty bad right now, and the Colorado river is on the northern boundary line andd countinues to maintain high flows due to rice farmers that have water rights downstream, so will (and can) it be considered open for fishing?

You'll have to ring me about this Derik so I can fully understand "where" you're talking about. Things can be tweaked a little due to circumstances that make sense for all but it needs to be done asap so there is ample time for all to know about it. You can ring me at 706-540-4280.
