    Default Snake Heads

Anybody been fishing for snakeheads yet? Or know where the hotspots for them are?

I hope there are not any down here in SC yet, but it's probably just a matter of time. I think there are breeding populations in South Florida and the Potomac R. in DC area, at least according to what I've read and the River Monsters episode where Jeremy was fishing for them in the canals around MIA.

There were some guys fishing a swamp in NC that required a paddle then decent portage to get to a location that supposedly had huge bowfin in it...way larger than bowfin get. I would suspect that wherever this spot is...those fish could actually be snakeheads...but until those guys post a picture, it will be hard to determine.
NCWRC has spent many days looking in those creeks where there were some caught or spotted in Wylie for the past several years with no luck finding any...thank goodness.
