Went to the White on 3/19 with my buddies Stinky and Quadrajet, we had a real nice float for about 6 hours. I have to say that both these guys are excellent sportsmen and companions.
For the first hour or so we caught nothin. The whole first hour I threw a rooster tail and a 7" tequila worm and had no strikes. The conversation was good. Quadrajet brought along some stoves/skillets and eggs, bacon, hash browns, and the fixins. We had a big breakfast.
While those guys were cookin I tied on a 1/8 oz pumpkinseed grub. I tossed it out into a pool and pulled out a little fish, then caught two more in quick succession. Stinky got real antsy antsy and we scarfed down the rest of the stuff and hit the river. The 1/8 grub was producing fish real deep and Stinky caught a big spot on a white 1/8 rooster tail. We had a couple doubles and soon it became apparent that we were killing them (figuratively, of course).
We all started having luck on some smaller firetiger rapala minnows but it was hard to keep the perch off them. Quadrajet caught about a 2 pound smallie and managed to lip it and get every single hook into his thumb. He fixed it and we kept moving.
Grand total? about 30 smallies/spots and a handful of perch. Not bad!!!
I have to say that the attitude and enthusiasm of these fishermen was top notch. We have been friends for some time yet this was our first float together, and I certainly hope to have more!

P.S. the pic of both fish was a double--pretty good fish for a double! One is on a stringer cause Stinky was stuck in a root ball when he caught it.
P.S.S yes that is a 240 pound man fishing in an 8 foot 3 inch Kayak and doing quite well!!! It is an emotion comet I think.
