Well, it's less than spectacular, but I went back to the place where I caught a nice bass yesterday.....or, at least tried to. Due to power generation releases, I couldn't do it without a long drag. No thanks.
It did cool of a bit here as of now and they're saying that it could possibly be in the 60's in the morning. Wow. 108 Saturday. 106 Sunday (noon), 86 by Sunday Evening, and then 60 something by Mon. morning. That's a big drop!!
So just a few quickie pics. Nothing too spectacular. I didn't get to fish more than an hour and a half. A storm blew through and I wasn't able to fish during the wind and had to cut it short a little early due to previous commitments.
Paddling in.
Caught two small largemouth. Both were around 15 inches or so, I think. I don't really know since I lost my Hawg Trough yesterday!!![]()
They were holding REALLY tight to things. The ONLY bites I got, and where these two fish came from, was the downstream side of uprooted trees. I'd have to HIT the root ball with my jig and let it fall in the water. After that, I'd have to get the fish out of the entanglement of roots.
Fish one.
Fish two.
They were both holding SUPER TIGHT to the root balls of overturned trees, and ALL anything would even look at today was a blue jig. Guess the storm had something to do with that.
Paddling out before dark this time. First time in a while I haven't loaded in total darkness!!
