Default Creek wading in the Ozarks

I managed to get away and fish a small creek that's one of my favorites for a morning trip Monday and caught a few, missed a few others, but really had a good time with my 6-weight fly rod.
I did get one halfway decent picture of a gorgeous Ozark Smallie, but it wasn't having it and wiggled half out of my grasp so I let it get away before I got a great shot, but still, a nicely marked Ozark Smallie.

That was a foam popper, one in Black/Gray/White with lots of blue sparkle flash in the tail, a color I like to call "Wall Cloud".
Caught a couple on subsurface flies, but the popper was doing better, and it's much more fun!

Wow, beautifully colored fish, and even more beautiful water. Can't wait to try an ozark river again. I maybe fortunate enough to have a couple days to explore while passing through the area August 30th, 31st if you'd be up for a float trip.

Nice, I think i'm going to string up the fly rod this weekend and try some of the poppers I made not to long ago. I hope you won't be upset if I ripped off your foam popper design.

It'll be fine as long as I get 1.00$ for every fish caught on that design.

Then I already owe you about thirty bucks. Those things were great on post spawn fish down at Table Rock this year. I wanted to get in touch with you about the tackle shop in Ozark, The Anglers Edge. I stopped by last week and checked the place out and it seems like it maybe a decent little tackle shop. Not much selection on factory stuff but he is willing to customize hand tied jigs, both hair and rubber. Maybe I can finally get a flawless design on a rubber jig.
