Pre-tournament report

Did some pre-fishing on 6-18 for the tourney in Charlotte the following weekend. I had a couple of flows I wanted to check out over the weekend but did so well the first day that I didn't do anymore scouting. Fished a large river with large shoal complexes for largemouth. Early on I established a nice buzzbait pattern. Caught about 12 fish, all on the buzzbait and most of them were nice fish and all were hanging out in the shoals, some in some strong current but most in pools. By the end of the day I had about a 60 inch 3 fish total. That would have easily won the tournament the following week. However, the next week the river was significantly lower and the bite was much slower. I struggled to catch a 3 fish limit and could only muster 46.5 inches for a 9 place finish.

Just goes to show that pre-fishing isn't everything. For the Birmingham tourney I only did virtual scouting and fished the creek for the 1st time the day of the tourney and finished 2nd with 53 inches. What am I going to do for the Macon tourney...HHmmmm.

You could do like me, fish it way in advanced ( look like your to late for that but if you leave today it might work) have the worst trip ever, get there late fish and talk to Pawpaw with out realizing who it was till after he had gone dow river, get in the car have a flat change the flat wake up next day have a blow out get tires fixed go home with out even catching a fish. Now im going to show up at Macon on friday intime for registering and then wake up saturday morning and pray that it the best fishing trip of my life! haha.

P.s. Dont try this at home! haha

But that is a nice fish sucks you couldnt get em on tourney day.
What kind of rod do you have laying there, cause the grip looks a whole lot like my H2O, like exactly?

Ole fellar....almost the same shirt. LOL. Rivercrawler, that's a 7ft Falcon Cara. Awesome rod.

Yet still a nice Largie and some pretty good looking water there Murse, or shall I say Admin-Murse! You are a favorite in Macon and I wouldnt be scared at all to put some $ on you brother!
