Default I cheated on my precious Ocmulgee...but I am not ashamed.

Yeah, so I was trapped at my Parent's house for the weekend, with my daughter. NO YAK FISHING AT ALL. Was planning on trying to scoot down to the Hooch and try for shoalies w/ my daughters yak, a 6ft pelican open top....would have been hairy so I decided against it, especially since they released water from the Oliver Dam upriver and I couldn't fish. That little yak is very unstable. So I cheated on the Ocmulgee with my Dad's pond, but as I said....I am not ashamed for I had fun and caught a few small to medium largemouth and was able to break in new poles. Got a new 6ft medium spinning rod that your pointer and thumb actually touch the blank of the rod....super sensitive. I was tossing my rapala slash xrap....the small fat one in black with silver sides and some red along with red/white feather like material on the back hook like a pop r. The fish would swat at it right next to the bank and I would have to do a figure 8 w/ my pole and let that rapala nearly sit still and they would come back and crush it! My biggest followed a shakyhead jig/green pumpkin worm in and missed it, so I did the same thing as with the rapala and did a figure 8 with my rod and a bass a little over 2lbs came back and grabbed the worm. The water temp had to be crazy high because as you can see the pond isn't very large. Started throwing that famous "paw paw" black buzzbait and caught five more but won't put that many pics in the story. Sorry to all you dedicated riverbasser's, if I hurt your feelings, I do apologize. Happy Fishing All!

    Just under 2lb largemouth.

The Just over 2lb largemouth caught on worm

The mouth on that bass was huge!

    Another nice little largemouth

One more, well the next to last

The last one I will make you look at since it was a sin to catch em from a pond...black buzzbait fish

Looks like you had a grand afternoon to me!...WTG
If and when the participants of this sport become elitists and I have to think about where & how I fish to fit in or to accommodate them....I'm outta here!
Pretty much why I walked away from 30+ years of trout fishing.

    Nice report BTW.
Hard to find more fun than plunking a pond.

Your absolutely right about that, would be gone if the fellows where really like that. As you probably know I was just messing, but I have seen those types out there. Not on this site yet, if ever....these guys/gals have been nothing but accommodating and super helpful in giving me advice on spots and how to properly fish from my kayak. Also was invited on several fishing trips within the first few weeks of being a member. This site is definitely a big part of my day now. LOL!

I'm not the greatest communicator in the world, so I'd better make sure I didn't come across wrong...

My sole point was: no need to apologize, there are no elitists on this site!
That's what I like about this site, everybody is made welcome...even a goober like me.
I've been hanging around here for a year now, have had the good fortune to meet several of the members, and have no doubt that this is the most welcoming, helpful, non-elitist bunch around.

Not trying to hijack the thread, so I'd best quit while my hole is only shoulder deep...
