I am looking for a float partner for the Birmingham and Charlotte legs of the trail. Anyone with local knowledge of these two areas interested in showing me around?

I am probably going to both of these. I do not have any knowledge of the Birmingham stop but have a pretty good idea where I am going to fish on the Charlotte stop. If you don't have an float partner by then let me know and we can explore some new water together.
LPD
LPD, sounds like a plan. My main concern is safety, especially on rivers that I have not fished before. You still coming to Macon? I have some ideas if you are interested. I'll shoot you a PM.
I am in...Thanks for the inviteJust tell me where and when and I will be there..
You guys are great![]()
I may go ahead and do some scouting in Birmingham over the long holiday weekend. I might as well since the Birmingham stop is near. What else am I gonna do this weekend? I know, I know. Tough life I have.
Bruiser,
ML and creekfreak are the resident experts in Birmingham.
Bruiser could you use another tag along floater? I'm planning on doing my maiden voyage this weekend. I wish the rules didn't have the Coosa as off-limits, cuz I LOVE the Coosa River. The spotted bass in the Coosa are beasts !!
Doug
PS-The way I figure it, us Dawg fans need to stick together anyway LOL
At 4 y/o, I waded Pumpkinvine Creek behind my Dad. 40+ years later, he is still my favorite fishing partner !!!
I'm still gaining experience in the area, but if you have any questions about stuff in the south-central portion of the boundary (south of I-20, between Centreville and Talladega), I may be able to help. I'm planning on giving the small water, solo paddle-up strategy another shot, though, so I'm not available for a float.
Bruiser, If you need a shuttle for a scouting trip south of Lake Wylie let me know...
Catawba, I may have to take you up on that offer in the near future because I am interested in that area. I'll let you know when the time gets closer buddy! Thanks again for the offer!
RiverRat, I see over 30 miles of the Coosa inside the boundaries. It also happens to be the only area of the Coosa that is actually river and not backed up by lake also, so technically the only portion of the real Coosa that is available to fish, is. Oh, and go Dawgs!
I am interested in a float partner as well. If you need one PM me.
I may be from TN, but I am def a Dawg fan (from Macon orginally)!
So, it looks like me, LPD, waderjon and canonman all need float partners. Is that still correct guys? Any preference to how we split up? I'll be honest, I'm going to have to wing this one. I don't know much about the area so I'm lost, especially with the prospect that some waters may be blown out.
It looks like I will not be able to make this one. I hate it....I was really looking forward to making the trip. I will definitely make the Charlotte and Macon tourneys though. They are already solid on the schedule. Good luck to you guys.
