Did a solo float on a middle Georgia river today. Thanks to PawPaw for shuttling me! The weather was perfect and the river looked good as well. The day started off super slow. I had only caught one fish by noon! Well, I kept on slinging and eventually the bite picked up around 2pm or so. Ended up with 14 total bass, all on the spinnerbait but one. Most were small but I did manage one shoalie around 2.5 lbs and a LM around 2lbs. The cool thing is I managed to catch the mid-Georgia black bass slam. That\'s right, I caught LM, shoalies, spots and redeyes and more than one of each. Here\'s a pic of each species caught today. Not necessarily the biggest of each.
Here\'s the big fish of the day, a nice shoal bass that apparently something tried to eat. Maybe an osprey? I say this because I saw an osprey dive into the water right in front of me and take a fish. Way cool.
This has to be the smallest LM I caught today.
One of 2 redeyes I caught today.
One of 2 spotted bass caught today.
It was a great day on the river, even if I didn\'t catch any big ones. After all, it\'s not every day you catch 4 out of 7 of the black bass species.
