We've had a lot of success on crease flies, but their strike-to-hook up ratio is a little disappointing. LSUFF tied up an articulated one for me to try out and see if it landed any more fish. I took it out on Friday to the local flow for some testing. It was a chore to cast in between storms, but I did manage to catch a few bass. The articulated crease fly landed 6/10 bass, which is actually better than the normal one. However, it also was killer for longear sunfish, which are sometimes very pesky when you're targeting big bass. It was a little smaller than the size crease we normally throw, so maybe tying a bigger one will help. Nothing of size on Friday, but the day was shortened due to weather, maybe next time.
