More Hooch Bassin

Got out to the Hooch this afternoon. Caught 4 "river bass". I attached pics of the first 2 so Drew can help me with a positive ID...

I just got back from catching smallies in SC and those look like shoal bass to me. Although it would be nice to see their tails. Shoal bass usually have a spot on their tails.

Great colors on those fish, Nice Feesh! I am glad someone is able to go fishing, it has rained here all week and the rivers are all blown out!

Those are some mystery fish for sure.  They look like hybrids of a shoalie and smallie to me.  Their mouth doesn't look as small as a smallie's.  Their dark color goes all the way down to their belly which is typical of a smallie.  Their stripes are just from top of back down to the belly but now many in between that are short diamond shapes like shoalies have.  Man, those scream hybrid to me for sure.  Although, it is hard to tell with just a couple pics like SSF alluded to.  Nice fish though and I am sure it was a blast to catch no matter what it is!
