So maybe I have missed all of the discussion as I have been buried in the books, but the CAFE is next weekend right?  Is anyone still going?  Is the woodsmoke campground good to go?  Just wondering …usually there seems to be a lot more chat this close to time?  So how about a final head count…who's in!!!????

What kind of water can we expect? Both of my homemade "sneaks " are shot and the flats boat, plus rigging ,has blown the play budget. I would love to come, but my only option is the 15' Bugbuster.

Deep, I'll be there unless I am dead or have a limb amputated.

Stump, the area of river we fished last year had 2 floats. One you could take a jon boat no problem. I went down it in a square stern canoe with a TM and just had to raise the TM every now and then. The other float may be fine with the higher water levels but when low, you could easily tear off a TM and may have to do a little get out and drag. Also has a couple of intereresting drops that you want to make sure you go down the best line.

    Hope that helps

Ok guys here is the deal...We checked out the woodsmoke family campground and it appears that there is a no alcohol ordinance in effect for the campground.  We all understand and want to respect the rules at thier establishment. We also understand that some folks enjoy a cold adult beverage while they are camping/fishing.  According to the current count, it looks like we will have between 13-15 folks who are gonna camp some part of the weekend.  Drew and I have spoken and it looks like we are gonna move the camping to a private area on the river.  This next part is really important.  This private camping/access is a rare situation these days, and we want to be very respectful of the property owner and his gift to us.  Drew is getting directions together which will be pm'd to those who have confirmed they are going.  Please keep these directions to yourself as we don't want private access broadcast to the online fishing community.  For anyone who has not posted up so far, please do so ASAP so we can make sure and get you the information in a timely manner.  We are also planning on leaving flyers/directions at the woodsmoke family campground for those who may show up unaware that we have changed the location.  I am stoked about the CAFE and can't wait to meet and fish with all of you!!!  If anyone has any questions or needs further information please pm myself, or Drew and we will get back to you as soon as possible!!

    Thanks Deepstep.

I was there this weekend scoping out the Woodsmoke Campground some more for us and that is when I discovered the no alcohol policy. Its not a big deal to me but I know that it is probably something that would put a damper on the event for most. So, Deepstep is getting a headcount and we are PMing directions to the new place to those who are going. We'll just be sure to take care of the property and leave it as we found it. We'll also be taking up some money that I will collect and give to the land owner in appreciation so bring little cash to donate to the cause.

As far as shuttles and floats we'll discuss that all on Friday night around the campfire and on Sat night around the campfire. I think Deepstep might be posting this also but be at the site by 7:30am if you are fishing on Friday to get in on a float.
