Jaybird, I have rarely thrown a jig and never caught a fish on one. A jig is supposed to mimic a crawdad. I normally throw a Texas rigged soft plastic craw. Similar concept I suppose.

There are some great places to kayak fish around Mitchell, Jordan, and Lay. I live in Prattville and it is about a 30 minute drive up to the good spots.
