I didn't have to work until about 11:00 this morning so threw a rod in the truck and headed north towards one of the cold water rivers coming out of the mountains. I was hoping to find a big striper, and about 3rd cast it was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - Fish-On. I was fishing in heavy current/whitewater area and fish peeled a bunch of drag running downstream and I new it was a decent striper. Finally got it turned and out of the main current and it was a decent fish, though not quite what I was after.

Made a few more casts and the fish I was after followed my lure all the way up top me, but then turned and swam away. :( Fished about 5-10 more minutes with no more hits or fish seen so headed back home to get ready for work.

About 30 casts, one decent striper landed, and saw a bigger one. Not a bad way to start off the day and I will be back for the big one soon...

Awesome that you are able to do that. Wish I had a few spots near me. I would keep a rod in the car during work (field sales), and stop by randomly and make some casts.
