After fly fishing for about 10 months now I figured it was time to learn to tie. I mainly use Clouser minnows so I started with those and wooly buggers.

I also use craws so I started to experiment with the few materials I have at the moment.

And what do you think of this?

The legs off my favorite jig trailer.

I've caught some fish on the Clousers and the craws are getting tested this weekend.
A fun hobbie for sure.

Nice job!! Fly tying can become just as addicting as fly fishing! Its always fun to make flies from things laying around the house.

The Clouser is one of my favorites as well. There are some good videos on youtube where the man himself shows the way he ties them. He has some good methods that quicken the tying process and help the durability of the fly. Do a search on youtube for "bod clouser" (the first name is mispelled) and you'll find videos titled minnow 1,2 and 3. minnow 2 has the bulk of tying the minnow. 1 and 3 have to do with hook sharpening and adding the epoxy. Good luck with the tying, it can be fun.
