These are NOT record-breaking fish by far, but they are the most brilliant and ellaborately colored fish I've ever seen.

Caught a couple of these on the Savannah River in the past couple of weeks...

Inril, Bartram's are either a sub-species of redeyes or an entirely separate species found in the Savannah River and some western South Carolina rivers and their tributaries. Basic research has indicated that Bartram's are distinctively separate from redeyes found elsewhere such as the Coosa River basin. However, I don't believe there is enough funding to do an extensive long term project that is needed to make definite confirmations.

Thanks for the info Bruiser. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of one. They are truly beautiful! Don't get me wrong I love my KY bass and smallies but JEEZ those are pretty!

Those are some of my favorite bass! Great coloration on those.

A couple of times a year I target them in certain flows cause even tho I love my smallies and LM, I got to get a redeye fix now and again.

Great pics!
