Would love to, but will be out of town this week end. The rivers should be in great shape.

Alright should be a good trip. Def looking forward to fishing with someone who knows what they're doin. I've floated the river many times in a jonboat but t his will only be my second trip out in my ultimate. Looks lke 50 cent chance of rain sat and 40cent sunday so I'd like to hope it changes over goes around otherwise it'll be a great day

fish bite in the rain too...bring it on

My supervisor called and said I have Saturday off. I can make the trip

It takes about 2 1/2hours to make it to the Tenn border from my house. We'll need to find an exit to meet at and I'll have to follow you to the actual put in/takeout.

Fishing the Va side right?? If not I need to buy a Tenn license.

I'm fishing out of my toon if the banks aren't too steep or nasty. I can bring a yak if need be, but would definitely prefer my toon. let me know

I leave for work at 6 tonight and won't be home til about 6am..drop a line and we'll hammer out some of the details.

I'm excited I've never fished the Holston or Clinch. New waters make my nipples hard.

sounds good. def fishing the Va side my Tn license is out as well.

Still trying to figure out which location would be best to put in.

Who knows where i can figure out how many miles long the float will be and determine how long it takes to get from put in to take out according to the CFS of said river??

Can you paddle up river in that pontoon? and how rough a water will u go thru? Anybody else coming with us

Here you go this breaks the Clinch down into floats and distance.

hey thanks! the Clinch is such a better river. Wish there was a map like that for middle or north fork but seeing as theres no public access anywhere on the rivers its hard to make a map for like that for public use

There are a couple pubic access points on the North Fork in Webber City and one in Wadlow Gap. I've only waded the Middle Fork from South Holston up so can' be of much help on a float on it, but if you pick you spot post it here and I might be able to help with the float on either the Clinch or North Fork.

going upstream is problematic in a toon, but it has the advantage of being more stable and having a rock solid standing platform, not to mention the abilty to anchor down with no worries of tipping

Wind is my biggest concern. Yaks aren't as heavily influenced as toons are.

I have a Tarpon 100 if need be, I just prefer the toon because of comfort. My back isn't what it use to be.

I've gone sideways over class II rapids with no worries at all I'd have no problem going over class II, and with a bit more practice, classIV.

Its not a big deal if u can't go up stream just at the take out its a huge deep slow moving bend that would be awesome to float thru and paddle back up to take out. Its the hole where the fish in my avatar came from. Prob wouldn't go a 1000 feet below take out

rivers were too high and the weather sealed the deal. We canceled.

Sam and I are going Sunday when I get off work, and Mikey and I are musky fishing Sunday a week on the James.

Got some more inlines and swimbaits coming in this week for the toothy critters
