Alright guys i did a quick search and didnt find anything. I'm new to the site and a proud new owner of a Coosa. I do most my fishing in Middle tennessee, but would like to find some spots close to Memphis too. Any Memphis area bassers have any good floats here?

You might want to send Aquaman, or middleTNsmallies a PM.
Aquaman is a standup guy, and loves to kayak fish, Sarah and I know him personally he was in Memphis, but I think he moved just south of there recently. middleTNsmallies seems like I pretty good guy himself, but I don't know him personally. I'm just east of Nashville.

I'm in the Memphis area. There is a few good places around (nothing like middle Tn.). Got a Coosa on the way with custom color. I can hardly wait. Pm on the way.

Not sure about right in Memphis, but a short 2 hours into Arkansas opens up a whole new bucket of opportunies.

I have thought about heading over there a few times. Haven't done it yet. What kind of fish can you expect, besides trout of course.

Lots of good smallmouth just a two hour drive away. I've driven up there to fish twice all the way from South MS because I enjoy it so much. If I lived in Memphis, I'd be over there almost every weekend. Shoot me a pm if you want more info.

I live in Corinth, Ms. and there is plenty of very good float streams between here and Memphis. These streams have northern spots and largemouth bass and the fishing pressure is very low, send me a PM and I will put you on some fish.

I've done a lot of fishing on Pickwick close to Corinth. PM coming.

Any area guys ever fished near Oxford? I waded a river a couple of years ago a caught 3 White Bass out of one hole. We didn't stay more than an hour because the guys I was with were impatient. I am trying to figure out the name of the river.

Yet to fish that area, but north is Little Tallahatchee and south is the Yocona...both of which should have white bass.

The Little Tallahatchee is a very good stream for a variety of fish. I used to live In New Albany and I spent many days wading. This was before I purchased a kayak and there were some holes that would have been fantastic with a yak. This is a stream that is so ugly that no one fishes the upper stretches as it appears to be and is a giant ditch lined with Kudzu. Once you leave the bridges you are in almost untouched fishing. This is a stream for whatever you want to catch. I do not need to hide this information from anyone because no one has ever believed me on this.

So the Tallahatchee is the river that goes under 78 next to the little league park? Good to know... looks like I will have a busy spring!

Yeah. I am formerly of Nashville but live in Memphis now. I don't float anything around here to fish. I have floated the Ghost River section of the Wolf, but it was just a scenic float. Killer float though.
I only float and fish in Middle TN, or in the Ozarks because all i really care to target are smallmouth. Holler at me anytime.

My little brother lives in Oxford and raves about the Yocona and the Tallahatchie during the White Bass run. It's coming up soon. It is my understanding that it is non-stop action and I know they are good eaters. I think late March, early April or so.
When it gets closer it might be thread-worthy to talk about the white bass run in those two rivers. Come to think of it, the MS forum might be on top of it.

I have a stretch of the Wolf River I have my eye on I may try to float when it gets warmer. I have a feeling nothing will come close to comparing to middle tennessee, but it should be an easy trip. We'll definitly need to keep an eye out for the run as well.

I'd really like to explore some of those north MS streams with yall sometime. I've been wanting to try them forever, but its tough to coordinate a float partner that has the time to go all they way up there to fish with me. With a few people in that area, it may be worth the drive now. I'd just like to do more than a solo paddle up, if I'm going to drive 4 hours to fish.
