When the weather breaks KYAngler we will get together and hit some of the flows I fish, They are about a 45 min to a hour drive from you but are good smallie waters. If your into overnighters we are planning a couple this year and your welcome to come. During the Rodeo this spring you need to come and we can get you to some pu/to and do some fishing. I'm not familiar with those flows your fishing so wouldn't be much help there. We kind of shy away from putting pi/to on a public forum because of the meat hunters getting the info and destroying the fishing.

KYAngler - I am also in Richmond. I have a couple spots I fish. One is on one of the flows you mention. When it warms up let's get together and hit a few. I also need to get together with smfisher - we meant to do a float last year and it never panned out. I would like to get together with some guys for early fishing on the Elkhorn - I am always trying to get into them earlier in the year than I should. There should be a few spots on the Elkhorn where there is a chance at them before June.

Keep in mind we are having a Rodeo on the Elkhorn this spring (dates soon), this should be a good one.

Oh yes way before june, I caught some of my best fish last year at the end of february and in march. The fish were already spawning by the end of feb last year and moving into really shallow spots without moving water, you could stand on the bank and watch them patrolling the bed areas. I have huge advantage over a lot of folks because I live right on the elkhorn and can hit it pretty much anytime I want. You let me know when you want to come up early and maybe I will be around to help you out.

Work is threatening to send me to Asia for a few weeks end of Feb / Beginning of March - just as I'm getting excited to get out! I have to get out, I'm headed out today to toss a fly at some trout. it may be cold and rainy, but it is something!
If I go to Asia I should be able to get together around the end of March, early April. If I don't go, I should be ready in a couple weeks. I don't know if I can keep up with you guys since I'll be using a fly rod, but I'll give it a go!

There are a lot of access points on that creek where you can wade or put a yak in. Pick a spot and go. It's really that easy.
