The International Custom Rod Building Exposition is set for High Point, NC on February 26 & 27, 2011. This is the world's largest event for custom rod builders and fishermen wishing to see the future of fishing equipment, now.

On tap this year are seminar presenters Gary Loomis (North Fork Composites) and Jason Brunner (St. Croix Rod Design Engineer) in addition to 23 others.

We generally have one major kayak manufacturer set up for display. Past years have seen Wilderness Systems and more lately, Native Paddlesports. This year's kayak exhibit is still TBA.

You can find out more about the event, plus view photos from last year's event here:

I will be there. Attended everyone in in High Point so far. I might as well keep the streak alive.

Seriously, this event is amazing. Not only can you learn a boat load of info. for constructing custom rods, you also will see many things that will not make it to production rods for a few years but will be/currently are available on custom rods. (ex. micro guides are just now making it to factory rods, custom guides were doing it for at least 3-4 years already, split grips and exposed reel seats were around MANY years before they made it to factory rods, the list goes on and on)
