Dirks New Chestatee River Record Striper

Unfortunately it is the record, as in smallest striped bass I have ever caught on the Chestatee. That's what I get for throwing a small bait I guess. This is not a white bass, it is definitely a small stripe. I also caught a Shoal Bass:

And a very aggressive Spotted Bass hit my bigger Striper lure.

No big stripers caught today but really it is tough this late in the summer to get them on artificials except right at dawn (Unless you are tailrace fishing). Not bad to get 3 species though in about 15-20 minutes... :D I have been working A LOT lately, so I was just happy to get a chance to wet a line and catch something at all, even though small. Tight Lines. Dirk

that is a tiny striper........i had one that was about 8 inches long come up and grab my king kong the other day :)

Still looks like a good day though.Anytime you get to wet a line is a GREAT DAY.I'm going to try and catch a river stripe right now.I'm on they way .

Nice report Dirk. Good to hear work is steady for you, even though it does cut into fishing....lol. Congrats on the record...I think..haha.
