It has been ridiculously hot the last couple weeks in Georgia and I have been working 6 days a week, but I have managed to sneak in some fishing time and they have been biting pretty good. I haven't caught any huge stripers this summer yet but I will find some eventually. I have caught my share 3-8 lbers though and most of them have come on a variety of different swimbaits and jerkbaits. I can't seem to find one that consistently out produces the others, but have found several that do pretty good. The stripes and bass seem to be right up in the rapids now and most the fish I caught today hit just as I engaged the reel... :D Though I caught several stripers the most impressive fish today was this golden colored spotted bass that went just over 3 pounds. This is a poor quality photo from my cell, but this was by far the pretties spot I have ever caught. I thought it was a smallie at first it has so much golden color. It bit a 5" storm swimbait (Chartreuse) within a second of the lure hitting the water.

I was just bank fishing alone so didn't take many fish photos but here is the first of the stripes that I caught. I caught them on a jointed hard swimbait and a couple on a jointed crankbait (both look a lot like a gizzard shad). Unfortunately I hit a rock with the hard swiombait and it is fubar, but they bit the crankbait just as well I think. I was basically just casting up into the whitewater and trying to keep the slack out, the current was giving the lures their action. Tight Lines. Dirk

That is a great looking spot! I hear you Dirk, my favorite striper spots are slow with low water and hot temps. I would love to see 3" of rain and low 80's.
