Bruiser

After waking from some much needed sleep, I found myself on the couch drinking a cup of coffee and watching ESPN Outdoors. Originally, I had planned on spending the majority of my day on the couch, recuperating from the Atlanta stop of the Riverbassin' Tournament Trail. However, after sitting through 20 minutes of some intense ESPN fishing, I knew where I needed to spend the rest of my day. I decided to do a half day river trip even though I was physically exhausted. How could I waste a perfectly good day, inside and on the couch? Well, don't worry, because I didn't.
Even though the fishing was tough with wind gusts of 20 mph, I was still able to establish a pattern and catch some nice fish. I finished the day with around 8 fish, give or take a few. The fish were stacked up in pools with slight current. They only bit a 4" watermelon color Senko, texas rigged and weighted with a 1/16 ounce hook. Who needs to watch ESPN outdoors when you can experience it first hand....
A perfect rock to pull myself up and survey the river...

On second thought....

My hand and face were within inches of this snake as I was pulling myself up on top of the rock. I instantly fell backwards into the river before I could determine whether that snake was poisonous or not. Too close for comfort, poisonous or not!
Another snake enjoying the sunshine
