I have had the 10' model for about a year now and have made several trips in it. I enjoy the fact you can stand and cast if you get tired of sitting.

I looked at those before I bought my Old Town Pack and I liked it but weight and trying to paddle a boat that is 42" wide left me cold. Really like the low sides (less wind catching) and it's ability to take on water but not sink and ofcourse the stability. Also like ease of reentry if you ever fall out...not that that has ever happened to me!

How is it to paddle? Do you use an extra long paddle? If so, how long?

I also solo fish out of my Old Town Disco 158 (added a center seat) and at 35" wide and around a 15" center height, I have to use a kayak paddle that is more than 275cm or I'm going to get really wet. I actually took a cheapo paddle and extended it to 300cm.

That salmon catcher from Conn is known to have one, I am sure they'll comment when they see the thread.

Not really sure how long the paddle is boyscout, I bought the one they recommended for it at the fly shop where I got it. He did say it was longer than most double kayak paddles. Well said madcoop ;) , I deserved that one for the avater comment but I thought yo momma had one of these too? :D
