IF you don't you should. Here in Oklahoma they usually start running around March when water temps finally get to about 55 degrees. This is also a great experience for kids as they will find lots of the hearty little fighters to keep their rods bent. They will also bite just about anything that hits the water so lure selection is not that important. Another great thing about the run is that you can catch fish in all sorts of places, My biggest sandy was caught in a small spring feed creek that was knee deep and 12ft across. I hope everyone has a safe fun time this spring and takes an opportunity to catch a few sand bass with friends and family. And as a note to all the Texas guys who are lucky enough to fish the Sabine run I just want to say I hate you

I've caught the run a couple times. If you catch it at the right time and place, you can have a non-stop blast on light tackle.
