Hit the local river this afternoon for a quick wade. I figured I would fish today since it would be raining tomorrow. I had a few hits on the jig n craw but I wasn't landing the fish so I switched to a little soft plastic crawfish called a Gabbie, at least that's what I think it's called. I picked em up in the saltwater section at Academy and figured I'd give em a shot on the local bass. They worked alright, I caught a few bass on them.

Saw a giant beaver in the creek today, it was so big I thought it was a manatee at first, which is a bit ridiculous, but that was my first thought.

Just did the mileage and it looks like my round trip for mileage was 3.25, found a nice hole at about 1.5 miles where that beaver was, didn't catch anything out of it this time, but it's got potential, especially on a stream like this that is very shallow for long stretches. Here's the pics:

Yep....that makes sense. The reason I quit soccer in highschool was b/c the coach made us run til we threw up at the very first practice. I didn't want to play that bad.

Nice! If that creek is anything like the one we waded recently, 3.25 miles would've been a crazy workout. Every few steps you sink to your knees.
It is similar in sections, there are spots with quicksand that will swallow your leg up to your knee. The one we waded has more holding area for fish though, I would never have to wade that far on that creek to catch the same amount of fish.
