Well, RiverBassin.com has now been around awhile. When did it crank up? Feb? March? I forget.

Well, I been thinking about how it started and what it has become and folks, as far as I'm concerned, this is the best fishing site on the net!

I am a member of several other sites and some I like and am still active in but I really prefer this site. It is my "main squeeze".

I honestly believe we have a very special group of fishermen here IMHO. I think we have the best of the best, the Cream of the Crop (yes, that is an "o"), and the coolest river bassers on planet Earth.

So, what do you'all think? How does RiverBassin.com weigh in the balance?

I actually first met Drew back in Spring of 2008 and we have fished, camped, and just shot the bull quite a few times since. When he first mentioned starting a new fishing website, I thought, "Yeah, just what we all need, another fishing website"!

But, since I really like the man, I joined the site ASAP and told everyone I knew about it hoping it would be a success.

Well, the Jury is in and I say "Guilty"!

Drew, you are guilty of creating the best place for all river bassers to meet new fishing buds, swap lies, brag about the big one they caught, tell about the big one that got away, tell funny stories of river mishaps, post insane computer altered pics, laugh, cry, complain about wives, and just get away from normal everyday grind of balancing work, family, and whatev.

Your sentence: You must keep fishing and catch multiple big river bass and display videos of said exploits...and most of all...have fun and take some pride in creating something that many people get a lot of enjoyment out of.

I don't know about the rest of the yahoos, but I say THANKS, DREW!

Oh yeah, no contest. I've poked around some other sites but pretty much call this one home. I could go on about the many reasons why but I think first and foremost its the members that make it what it is.

I look forward to signing on every night.

This is indeed one of the best fishing sites I have ever frequented.

Other sites have their place and are very good as well but, there is something about riverbassin that makes it rise to the top of the pile.

Be it the content, the members, the videos, the information or any of the many other things this site has going for it. Riverbassin has indeed laid claim to its spot on the internet and high up on my favorites list!

I would like to 'amen' what all the other heathens have stated thus far! This has to be the greatest collection of know it all, back woods, super bubba, fly flinging, gear crankin, creek huntin, yak flippin, tale telling, tent camping, honey hole protecting bunch of yahoos I've ever known. And though I am the ignorant midget of the bunch, I'm honored to be one of you guys. Thanks Drew for your vision and work! I love you guys, in the proper sense of the word , and look forward to wetting a hook with you one day--the good Lord willing!

I totally agree with all the rest. You know what does it for me? The great fishin videos. There\'s not enough bass fishin shows on the tube and you never see any about river fishin. So, on those oh so lonely nights....ya know the ones that you ain\'t hugged up to your favorite rod out on the water...I love checkin out all the fishin videos. Almost feels like I\'m right there. Gets me all tingly inside...ok, that was a little weird. Also, the content and helpful articles are simply amazin. Good job Drew and thanks a lot.

I\'m sure Drew has turned on more folks than he could imagine to river fishin. I remember last year when I tossed out a line for my first ever riverbassin experience...I just had to learn more after catchin those hard fightin shoalies. Drew\'s website was the first (and about the only) site that I found that shed a little light on the subject. I emailed him right away without the slightest consideration of a response...ya know, considering how decorated a fisherman he is. To my suprise, about a day later, he replied with some helpful info. I bothered him a couple more times (sorry bout that Drew) but he was always kind enough to take a little time out of his busy schedule to answer a stranger\'s questions.

I\'m slowly building my arsenal of knowledge and tackle to hit the rivers with confidence and I have to admit that I feel like I owe a lot of that to Drew. I still got to get a dang kayak, though!!:yell: BTW....don\'t worry Drew...I don\'t have a man-crush on ya.

Remember that crazy river tunnel ya\'ll floated? I wouldn\'t try something like that after reading this Drew cause your head may not fit! JK:lol:

Props to all the other \'Keepers of the Kreeks\' that provide such great entertainment and wisdom on this site. Keep up the great work guys...little ol river greenhorns like myself need all the help we can get!

Thanks guys, glad you like the site because as a perfectionist I still see a lot of the imperfections. However, it is good to know that at its current state it is helpful to you all. We are young, and it will only get better each week/month so that is the good news.

Don't worry about my head, I know that none of this could be possible without the help of the members - namely the state reps, other close friends (you know who you are), AmazonRiverRunner and God's direction (cliche but true). This is a team effort here and I'm glad that every member here gets to be a part of the team. This is literally every river basser's site and I think that is what makes it great, so keep sending in ideas because they may very well be a reality soon. Just look at what FishTaco suggested a while back about making some sort of river bass slam and it turned into what you now know as "River Missions."

TurkeyCreek, that was pretty funny. I do get a lot of emails but the only way I can stay sane is to make sure I respond immediately because if I don't then it may accidentally just fade away and I could forget - which would be bad because people would think I don't care. Since I do care I try to get to them all and fast before I get behind. I really enjoy helping everyone out and seeing them have a great time on the water. One day it may get overwhelming and more difficult to keep up with but I'm going to try to keep up. If I can't, at least people have these forums where there are plenty of guys who know as much and more than I do on so many of our favorite river bassin subjects. I always encourage people to come here anyway because you get a variety of opinions which is nice, becuse just because it works for me doesn't mean it would work for someone else.

Drew, because of you, many lifelong friendships have been forged. The last two years of my life have been very difficult due to a divorce. I KNOW that fellow river bassers I have met due to your efforts helped get me through that terrible mess. I want to just give thanks to you as well.

Drew, Thanks for the awesome website. Through River Bassin, I have met some great people who are dedicated to their river fishing. This site is my link to the south as I sit in Ohio waiting for my next trip down. Thanks again, Ole Hooker.

This site has really taught me a lot and introduced me to a whole new kind of fishing that I hope I can experience for along time. I never knew about Shoalies at all. I found Drew's site last winter and contacted him and before you knew it I was down there fishing for shoalies!!! What a great, unforgettable experience. I also got a chance to meet Paw Paw over some Brunswick stew while we waited out a thunderstorm. I needed a quick education and Drew beat the weather and conditions and got me on some nice shoalies. I'll never forget that and with the site and the videos it can keep me going until I can get back down there. Fishing and good friends are two of the best things in life. This site is chock full of both of those things.

Thanks for all the hard work - it is appreciated!!

Yeah, I think so too. But of course I might be biased! To be sure, other fishing sites have their but clearly this is the one for me.

Catch a big one!
