My father, my uncle and I decided to make one of our all day fishing trips on Thursday. All in all it was a beautiful day. We got on the water at 6:30am with fog set in, the fog did not lift until around 11:30. The fishing slowed down a bit between 1-3 which gave us time to cool off and eat a lunch. The rest of the day we were catching fish almost non stop. My father and I caught around 75 fish each not counting the dinks under 10 inches or the redeyes. My uncle was trying out new lures and tactics all day so he only put around 10 in his canoe although he had 3 muskies follow his lures and had 1 musky around 36 inches break him off so he was happy with that.

I was the big fish catcher of the day with a 17 incher and a 16 incher with a multitude of 14+. One of my highlights was catching a 6lb catfish while dragging a tube. I thought I had a whale of a smallie on but when it never came to the surface and ran like crazy everytime it got near the yak I had no clue what it was. Finally fighting it up out of the rocks and ledges I netted him! It has been quite some time since I have caught a catfish and it was fun pulling this one in on a medium light rod with 6 lb test! Another awesome day on the river which ended earlier than we wanted it to, around 7pm, due to some nasty thunderstorms heading in.

Starting off the trip
