Took a walk down to my favorite smallie hole on the CT River 12:52pm.
Water is going down but still high, and moving at a good clip.
Stony Brook is way down from earlier last week

6'6″ Med fast action St Croix Triumph rod with a shim Shara 2500
spooled with 10# fireline smoke and 10# Vainsh floro leader.
With you guessed it, a Red 2/0 WGH, rigged with a dinger weightless.
7'St Croix Premier Med H Fast Action rod, Daiwa Exceller 4000 reel with 40# Daiwa boat braid/12# floro leader rigged w/1/4oz bullet weigth 2/0 worm hook and a dinger green/white.

I was casting it out as far as my little arms can heave it,
and popping it reeling in the slack and popping it, with my rod
tip held high, almost like bottom bouncing mealies for trout on the
Farmington River, except, the dinger never reaches bottom, it
was dancing through the fast water.
And Each time I'd Hook a SMB it would happen on the pop
and as it began to drop, and Never losing contact with the line
and bait, if you did, it ended with a missed SMB.
So I was always ready to set that hook.

There is an eddy I visit on the Ct River that is a hot spot all season long, and when the waters are high, but not to high, it can be insane!
If you place your lure in the right spot, it gets drawn
down into the whirlpool it creates, I've pulled many a Large Small
mouth out of there and 2 Bonus Sea Run Browns.

Today, it was on fire, I pulled many Small Mouth Bass from there,
and when those babies hit the faster waters, they feel like Monsters.
Only 2 Smallies came on the C-Rigged dinger.
I had Great fights, Great Air Shows and Great weather, Light drizzles
always sparks these Smallies up.
4:40pm I started my long walk home, tired (Ty to), Happy, and a good cup of coffee.

Life Is Good

Here is a shot of how low the Tributary is as of now.

Nice fish and nice spot within walking distance!
If that is the same spot from the "airshow" video youi posted, a change in water level makes a huge difference there!

Who does like kayaking? I'm fond of this way of fishing. In summer I'm going to a trip and want to invite everyone who also like kayaking to join me...I hope the trip should be good.

That is awesome and has me very excited. My girlfriend and her family live about 30 minutes from the CT-River in northwestern MA. I am hoping to do a float or two when up there next summer. Great looking fish!

Rox - nice smallies. I reconize that spot, **** the water is low. Everyone back home is telling me how low everything is due to the lack of snow this past winter.
