This trip started off early and bad. I couldn't find a life jacket so I had to buy a new one, and I forgot the aerator for the herring so we ended up having to get shiners. Got on the water anyway around six. I caught a jackfish that was all of 6 inches throwing a Mepps spinner right out the landing. When we came to the deep holes, the stripers showed up, but none of any size. They were quick to eat shiners and would go into a frenzy if an injured one was in the water, but were hesitant to eat anything artificial. They would just swipe and look at jerbaits and flukes.

Clear water allowed for sightings of: over 100 carp, some bigger stripers, and a lot of “peanuts.” It could be that I don't really know what I'm doing or I missed the main run, but the striper fishing isn't what it used to be…

First Striper (of 7) in the fog
http://i196.photobucket.com/al.....zzzz-2.jpg

Only Striper on artifical bait
http://i196.photobucket.com/al.....zzzz-2.jpg

Only swimbait I could get them to actually touch was the Sebile Magic Swimmer.

Thanks BrokenPaddle, you've really been helpful lately. Yes, the default text editor is "rich text" but you can switch it to BBCode by going into your profile. In Rich Text you simply click on the image button and then put the direct link.
