We are dealing with the very same issue on some of our flows. It is amazing to me that with mandatory garbage pick up some will still throw things in the river (pure laziness). I personally think it is going to take education and prosecuting the people who do this. If we get the nonprifit group started that we want in our area we will install hidden cameras at illegal dumps along the river and try to force the counties where the criminal activity occurred to prosecute these people . One thing I have talked to one official about is making the people who do this spend two weeks cleaning up the rivers in their area. There is simply no excuse in this day and time for trashing our rivers and roadways. We will also be having annual river clean ups and people who watch the flows for any littering or illegal dumping.
Well earlier this year I had to two nice fish break off with me. One was probably my fault cause it broke at the knot. I don't like worrying about whether my line will hold up if I have to pull one out of some rough stuff. So I have braid on all my reels now, and I can go to town.

I hear you, if you like covering a lot of water with long casts, I think you can\'t beat braid. You still could use a fluro leader if you wanted too. If you have any spools left, let me know what size and I might take them off your hands. I can use them to make furled leaders for the fly rod!

People do dumb stuff and you got to cut some slack. However, the idiots that created that mess should be taken out and...you fill in the blank. That is just down right disgusting.

Must of been a "super bubba". If you didn't get that one, read all the posts in this section!

Man, that is sad. I\'m seeing it more and more lately too. What a shame. We do want to eventually start riverbassin.com river cleanups but give us some time to get all this together because we\'re working on so much right now its overwhelming. We\'ll do them eventually and as we grow we\'ll also have more numbers to be a stronger voice for rivers.

That's ironic, I just found a pretty decent looking honda dirtbike and a canoe with an out of state registration on my local flow. Both were not there last week. I suspect the motorcycle may have been stolen and then dumped over the bank. The canoe probably got away during high water.

Did you claim salvage rights on the canoe?

TRW

Funny you asked, it was washed up against the bank right below our local scrap yard. I probably could have drug it right up the bank and cashed it in as scrap metal. It was busted up pretty good.

That and the fact you were more interested in the canoe than the motorcycle.
