If anyone throws a wacky rig on spinning gear this might work out for you a little bit. A lot of the finesse worms have the egg sack closer to the head of the worm. That is where most people hook it and on spinning gear you will develop a lot of line twist and make for a long day. You might try hooking the egg sack vertically (hook from top and pull out towards bottom) as opposed to horizontally and this will help reduce some of the line twist. At times I like using a nail in the head for a weight, but mostly I insert a small glass rattle and that gives some weight and noise to your finesse bait.

finesse fishing? What's that? I don't think I know how to do that... jk, great tip for those clear water rivers and spooky bass. I don't use it often because I don't have to but it is a great tip for those who routinely fish clear water and those who rarely do because the best fisherman out there are the ones who can adapt to any sitution and have the largest set of tools to use so to speak.

From your posts Drew I get this image of you going down the river throwing your arm off trying to cover as much water as you can. I bet the smaller fish are dizzy from the quick release. "How far off am I"?

Try a 10" Power Worm rigged wacky style and see whats happens. Do it and report back. I bet those fish have not seen anything like it. I know that it is hard to stray from what works (spinnerbait/jig for you). Give it a shot. I would love to head East and do it myself, but I will have to wait for that.

Hook placement directly determines the way the plastic will move. I\'ll give it a shot, I\'m just curious that it wont change my presentation I\'m going for by hooking it 3/4 of the way up the worm and hooked more vertical.

I'm sure this is old hat, but...This tool is specifically designed to wacky rig senko baits, but it'll work on any sized worm used for bass fishing.

Slip the senko or worm into the hollow end, and roll down a rubber o ring. Slide the hook under the ring, and you'll save the worm.

As far as line twist goes, I have to admit that I don't know. I never wacky rig. I prefer a texas rigged worm so I can throw it anywhere I want to without worrying about hanging up.

The o-rings definitely help for Senko durability. Putting the o-ring in the middle never causes line twist for me.

Yes it does change the presentation up. It is not quite as wacky, when you twitch it you still get the flex action, when it is falling it falls head first in a vertical position. Deadly for me, it works and I have great confidence in it and will get bit when nothing else works. Keep up the 10" power worm rigged wacky, you might get a big ole bass or catfish, still fun never the less.

I'll second the o-ring. I prefer Yum Dingers for their durability over Senkos. I've fished caught upwards of 20 fish on a single dinger rigged with an o-ring. Never had any trouble with line twist.

Sometimes all the fish need is a little different look than whatever everyone else has been givin' em. That's where rackfin's rig shines, as he said "deadly for him".

take a 1? piece of clear thinner plastic worm (tear it off) and hook the tip

slide the hooked tip above the knot on your line

add your senko, etc.

now take the loose end of the clear piece and stab it onto the hookpoint
