I mailed ordered some flukes the other day and when they arrived every single one of them was deformed from being kinked up in the packaging. Figuring I had nothing to lose since the baits didn't even look fishable I had an idea. I straightened them out on the countertop top and proceeded to heat them for a couple of minutes with a hair dryer, then let them cool in that position and it worked! They're as straight as can be.

I wonder if boiling them would work as well? Nice tip, btw!

The high number of deformities is the main reason I use Strike King Caffeine Shads instead of the Zoom Flukes. It always looked to me like they packaged them before they were cooled completely or something. I love other Zoom products, just not the Flukes for this reason.

Good tip though! I will try this on my soft plastics in the future.

Great tip wilp! I like the 3x Strike King Zulu's. A good friend of mine turned me onto them a few years ago and I haven't gone back to flukes since. One will last all day.

I agree SK Zulu\'s are where it\'s at and this is coming from a fly flinger! If you put a drop of super glue on the hook before pulling the nose up near the eye, it will stay on forever!!

Having a few of those deformed Flukes is not such a bad thing, they create erratic action and will work on heavily fished rivers. I would be mad if I spent some money on lures that were not in good shape though. Greats tips on straightening them out.
