Item reviewed: William Joseph Rip Tide waist pack

Condition: New

Number of trips used: 20-50 trips

How it performed: When I wade fish I like to have an entire arsenal of flies available in case nothing is working. I started off *carrying everything in a vest and that worked, but it was heavy and made me sweat more than I wanted to. I then switched to a chest pack. That worked as well and was lighter than the vest, however the chest pack caught ...

The first picture appears as if it is a 2 sided pack. Im guessing that is just a bad picture trying to show the front and back of the same bag?

It's a picture of 2 packs, with the orange one showing the front detail and the green one showing the back detail. There is only one side to this pack, but you should know that as you've seen me wear it.

Post was to clear things up for others.

If i were a bigger (boned that is) wade fisherman, i would buy two of these and connect them together to make the ultimate wading fannie pack holding 4 water bottles, more tackle than bill dance, 4 items on my 4 zingers, and enough candybars to stock a concession stand.

On the real though, its a nice pack. I have also gone to this style pack, just not this one.

This one, Its not as big and i only use it for shorter trips. Its pretty small which is good. I actually use both chest and lumbar. The big one when i dont know what they want and need an arsenal of baits, and the small one when i know what the will eat and dont need to bring alot. The only thing i dont like is that there is no room for water on the small one

Fish Pond makes some good looking, classy stuff with a modern feel to it as well. I like it fellas, good review and good choices
I am partial to Simms equipment, but this does look like a very nice pack!

I've got the biggest Fishpond lumbar pack(sorry, can't remember the model name) I will make you a deal on. Like new. I just never use it.

This is just my two cents worth and it's probably not worth that, but I have owned these type of packs and the chest packs. They are really nice but None of them really did suit my needs to well and were way over priced. I went through a lot of money buying this type of outfit suited just for fishermen, until I got tired of throwing my money away. I purchased a military 7 pocket chest rig and modified it to carry my camera and attached several clips with webbing and it suits my needs perfectly. I can carry everything I need and it is extremely comfortable all day long, all for Twenty bucks and some thread. With that said I have friends that fish with the fishpond fanny and chest packs and they love them , different strokes for different folk I guess, but I put my money in the rods and flies that catch the fish now .JMO

+1 on the Fishpond Blue River Pack. I use it when I do wade trips on local small creeks. Fishpond makes really good stuff, but it is pricey….

I also have a William Joseph sling-type pack that works well for wading trips. It allows you to bring a few more items than the lumbar pack.

I remove the front chest pack and just use the backpack portion.

P.S. I stuff both full of conventional lures, not flies. Sacrilege, I know.
