Well, since my scheduled off day fell on Memorial Day, I got to have a day all to myself while everyone else was working and I decided to head to a local flow that fishtaco had visited earlier in the week but forgot to bring his camera. The stream was pretty awesome when you get past the combat put in and mountain climb take out. It was smaller than most of the other streams that i have visited, but was still deep enough in areas to be up to chest level. The water was a bit murky due to a previous day/afternoon rain. This stream had some clay formations in it that were pretty sweet also. Since the stream was a little narrow in some places, i found myself hiking through the woods a good bit so that i wouldnt spook the upcomming holes. The briars and poison ivy were terrible, but i managed to make it a good ways down. There was a bunch of tree and bush cover that made casting impossible in some areas, but i managed to catch a few fish. And the pics…

The clay formations (only got one pic)… There was alot of undercut clay banks. This stuff is slippery and lead to me getting more wet that previously intended.

I had never seen so many of these in one of these freshwater streams.

Nice, I wish I had scheduled off days every 2 weeks, great report. I went a few days back to the same creek and had the same results. It won't be long before I'm back, maybe hit a different stretch next time.

Good pics. Oh, and in my experience a flow with alot of mussels is a very good sign of a healthy system (i.e. good fishing!)

LSUFF, thanks for the report. Awesome pictures!! It's amazing how the spots will attack a lure as big as they are!

Great pics! Looks like the one bass with the release shot was pretty good for that little flow.
