What are you using and what do you suggest? Doesn\'t necessarily have to be waterproof.
All suggestions are welcome!

I absolutely reccommend a waterproof camera. Eventually you will dunk your camera. Plus, you\'ll take more pictures if your camera is out and you\'re not afaid to get it wet. A lot of us have the olympus waterproof cameras, there\'s several different models by they\'re all good. Pentax also makes a good waterproof camera as well.

SSF

I use a waterproof camera for peace of mind. I used a Pentax. It takes pretty good pictures too. I don't mind dunking it and I don't mind pulling it out when my hands are wet from being in the water. Wet rocks are also no problem. I take way more pictures because I am no afraid of taking it out. However, they make and sell pretty good cameras these days for about $100 that probably take better pictures than the waterproof kind. You can probably buy/use a non waterproof camera every year for a few years for the price of a waterproof one. And you'll be able to be updated on the tech as it changes. However, don't expect to get any underwater shots.

Had my Olympus for about 3 years now and it was one of the original shock and waterproof versions (720SW) and it is still going strong and everyone who knows me knows I am as hard on my gear as anyone I know. I beat my stuff up and that says something about that Olympus.

I just ordered one, as the one I've been using is not waterproof and the moment of it's baptism and maiden submarine voyage is getting more and more likely.

I've got a Pentax Optio (not sure which exact model) that I like very much. I agree with everyone else about the waterproof feature giving me peace of mind. I'm not afraid to use my camera anymore. It's a typical point and shoot, takes good enough pictures for me. I'd recommend it to anyone that recreates outdoors. I can tell you now, the majority have either the Olympus or the Pentax and I don't think you'll be disappointed in either.
