You in Cleveland Blake? If so I'll be there on the weekend of May 9th.

Yeah, I am back in Cleveland.

Wife works on the 9th, but Granddad or Grandma might be available to babysit. I have two new to me boats that I want to get out there sometime. One is a 2-man raft, the other a pontoon. I need a skirt and drainplug for my whitewater kayak (it is an old school small cockpit). I no longer have my whitewater canoe .

BasserDrew
04-29-2009, 10:39 AM
You want me to see if we can get you a skirt and plug or even a boat? Or, would you want to join my group on a whitewater raft? I can probably get you on very very cheap and we\'ll have room for a friend or two if you want to bring one. Just shoot me a PM and let me know Blake. If nothing else it would be cool to put a face with a name while I am there.

Chris may be able to get you a boat if we need one.

Sounds good Blake, I've still got my Lynx 2 and have been wanting to float the lower Hiwassee later this summer from Reliance down to 411 takeout. Want to check it out for warm water species. I have no use for stocker trout!

I know there are more TN River Bassers out there or at least there should be because TN has some insane river bassin water that is just untapped! I hope you get out there and tear em up Figuey and take some photos to post here so that others can see what they are missing!!! Maybe that'll get em going!

I don't know about the rest of these TN guys on here but I haven't been able to get out on the rivers very much this summer. The constant rains and swollen rivers have put a damper on doing any floats along with busy work schedules. What fishing I have done this summer has been mainly for a couple of hours after work wading and most have been small fish or bream. Nothing really worth talking about or even taking pictures of. Lots of 12-14" smallies, some carp and lots of redbreast.

I did fish last weekend on a local deep water lake that is fed by mtn rivers. I was hoping that the cooler temps would bring the bass back to the top but I think they were still too deep to reach with the fly rod. I only caught one little fish in 6 hours. The catching was poor but the scenery of the fall colors was great and spending the day paddling in the canoe on a glass smooth lake surrounded by mtns was good for the soul.

Tennessee will be on the map soon. Drew's on the money, I dont see very many people floating these rivers. If I dont get competition, I'm going to wear these guys out on my own. Maybe even break a TN record. Do you want a California transplan claiming a TN Bass record?!

BasserDrew
10-27-2009, 10:24 PM
I bet you can certainly find some records in the books that can be broken in the river like LSUFlyFishing did in Louisiana recently.

Hey Gang,

I'm in Knoxville and looking forward to exploring the Holston and French Broad this summer. I've been rowing an 18-foot canoe, but I just picked up at 12-foot kayak. Should be a little easier to handle by myself.

Thanks!

Hey all,im in the Gray area of East Tennessee.Only about 10 min from the mighty Holston. Its that time of year to get back out and do some river fishinng.I basically live on the Holston during the spring through the fall because i hate the lake traffic but do fish alot of lakes as well, but the river is my first choice by far.Have yet to find my a good yak or hybrid for my budget but my ole coleman crawdad does me just fine for now.Ive been a member for awhile but havent added much but thats changing right now.

Just found this site.
My wife and I moved to the Nashville area almost a year ago we bought 2 Hobie Pro Anglers just after moving here. About 2 weeks ago we bought a 2009 Wilderness Systems Tarpon T160i we are starting to build our fleet. I grew up fishing in Indiana, then moved to Florida and fished some. Then moved all ofer the eastern part of the US and didn't fish very much. We bought the kayaks hoping to get back to what brought us together in the 1st place, and it's working. We fish 2-3 days a week, and getting ready to start fishing a night since it's getting hot. We enjoy camping, fishing, and just being outdoors. Well blake just 2 posts above this one is who referred me here, oh another site to get addicted to I guess, as long as it dosen't cut into fishing time.

Well I'm from NC and bleed Carolina Blue but I too love to fish TN. I spend lots of time on the Watuaga and S. Holston for trout, as well as the Holston for Smallies. Of course the Chucky and French Broad get hit now and then.

Great waters in East TN. Love my Holston, which is my home water. Small streams in my area are loaded with creek smallies.

First post on this forum.

I live in Memphis currently...Grew up in Nashville, and still make it back there to fish my favorite streams. Mostly float the Upper Buffalo these days. Also, I get up to Northern Arkansas a couple/few times a year. If you have not been there to fish smallies, you are missing out!

Holler at me if yall are getting folks together. Couldn't make the trip on the Duck, but wanted to. Let me know if it happens again!

I plan on exploring the Buffalo this summer, I have never made it over there. I haven't lived in the area for long.We will have to do a few floats this spring (it's just around the corner I can almost smell it).
